Two conditions that decide whether it works
Full price only โ sale items are excluded, and a single sale item in the basket will often reject the whole code. And the cap of AED/SAR 100 is reached at a 500 basket, so on a big footwear order the effective rate falls below 20%.
The sweet spot is a basket around 400โ500 in local currency: enough to use the full cap, not so much that you waste it.
How it plays market by market
In Saudi Arabia the 15% VAT is applied after the discount, so the same code saves more there than in the UAE at 5%. In Kuwait and Qatar there is no VAT, so the 20% is the whole story. In Bahrain VAT is 10%, in Oman 5%.
The cap is set in AED/SAR, which converts to a small figure in Kuwaiti or Bahraini dinars โ the code is worth relatively less in those two markets on an equivalent basket.
When to buy
White Friday in late November for the deepest cuts, and the run-up to the Dubai Marathon and regional football seasons for running and team kit. Note that during heavy sale periods most stock moves to sale pricing, which puts it outside this code.
